Can personality and intelligence be measured? How do babies learn to perceive and think? What happens when we sleep? Attempting to answer these important questions and more, psychology – the scientific study of human and nonhuman behaviour – has never been more popular. From TV experts to the amateur musings of your best friend, the language of psychology has permeated all aspects of everyday life. Here, the author proves that modern psychology concerns far more than the everyday stereotypes of Freud, Jung, and ‘common sense’ advice to provide a vibrant and witty examination of what it is to be human.

A riveting exploration of who we are and why we behave the way we do.

This is a great read for those who are beginners in psychology but it is also a great read overall. Martin clearly explains the principles of psychology in terms that are easy to understand as well as explaining psychology thoroughly A good read for students studying psychology at any level. .

Not quite what I expected . Content is okay but not laid out well so you can dip in and out of book. I think it was too simple and full of things I already knew .
