Fast delivery but a little disappointed with the book.A few pages are double printed over lapping, making it difficult to read.

If you are a teacher or student using the new OCR Sociology specification then there is really no other textbook which covers this specification. However, this is not the reason I am recommending this book it is actually a really good text which seems to exactly fit all the main points in the specification. It is written in clear language that A Level students can understand but also covers a lot of quite difficult theories and concepts. One of the best features of the book for me as a teacher is that key studies are highlighted in boxes on each section and there are also lot of activities based on sociological data, articles and pictures which students can work on or discuss. The questions in these activities also go beyond mere comprehension and help develop the skills of application and evaluation which are required by the sociology exam. Other useful features of the book are colour coded chapters, nice summaries of each section in which students have to fill in the blanks for themselves and a really useful glossary of key terms (useful for revision). Also given the fact there are no past papers available the practice questions at the end of each chapter are useful. I have a few quibbles in terms of odd mistakes on things such as references in some of the activities which seem to have been left out but hopefully the publishers will sort this before the book goes into reprint. Overall this is an excellent textbook and if you are using the OCR specification it should give your students everything they need.

Really helpful, followed the spec to a T and features TONS of studies. Sociology is all about studies and their respective researchers and theorists, definitely get this book to supplement your notes!
